AI Map Studio Guide · Updated August 16, 2026

How to generate Minecraft map art with AI.

Describe one clear subject in the AI Map Studio, choose a direction, size and palette, then generate. BlockArtLab creates the image, matches it to real Minecraft blocks, and prepares the material list, PNG, CSV and Litematic files for 20 credits.

1. Write a build-friendly prompt

Describe one clear subject with a centered composition, a bold readable silhouette and a limited color palette. Avoid gradients, tiny details and text so the scene survives conversion to 32–128 blocks. A sample prompt from the studio: a playful subject bouncing above an erupting geyser in a glowing cave, centered, limited colors, crisp pixel-art shapes, no gradients, no tiny details, no text, designed for a 64 × 64 Minecraft block build.

2. Choose direction and size

Pick Wall art for a vertical X/Y build or Flat map art for a horizontal X/Z map canvas. Use 32 × 32 for icons, 64 × 64 for most scenes, and 128 × 128 for a classic single-map footprint of 16,384 blocks.

3. Select a block palette

Survival Friendly uses accessible materials, Concrete Only gives bold saturated colors, and Full Palette matches colors more closely at a higher collection cost. Check the material totals before committing to expensive blocks.

4. Generate and review

A complete generation costs 20 credits. Review the preview and material totals before downloading; safe AI results are shared publicly in the BlockArtLab gallery and may be downloaded by other members for credits.

5. Export and build

Download the PNG blueprint for manual placement, the CSV material list for shopping, and the Litematic file for a Java Edition placement overlay. A 128 × 128 map needs 256 stacks, so compare palettes and simplify background colors before starting.

AI map generator FAQ

How much does AI map generation cost?
One complete AI map generation costs 20 credits. A 300-credit pack is $9.99 (about 15 maps) and a 1,000-credit pack is $24.99 (about 50 maps). Credits are a one-time purchase and do not expire.
Can I use an image instead of a prompt?
Yes. The AI Map Studio accepts a prompt or an image, and the free image converter turns any PNG, JPG or WebP picture into Minecraft blocks without uploading it.
Does the AI generator make staircase map art?
No. BlockArtLab generates flat, one-block-high X/Z map art. Staircase height shading uses a different map-color algorithm and is not generated by the current tool.
Are AI-generated maps public?
Safe AI-generated maps are shared publicly in the BlockArtLab gallery and may be downloaded by other members for credits. Unreviewed results are not published.
What sizes does the AI map generator support?
32 × 32, 64 × 64 and 128 × 128 blocks, in wall or flat-map orientation, using Survival Friendly, Concrete Only or Full Palette block sets.
