Keep eyes, mouth and hair shape large in frame. Begin around 48 blocks wide and judge recognition from a distance, because individual pixel detail matters less than the overall face.
Logos and icons
Use a transparent or plain background, remove tiny text and begin around 24–32 blocks. Concrete colors usually create cleaner edges than a broad photographic palette.
Landscapes
Crop to a strong horizon and one focal point. Landscapes need more width than portraits because sky, terrain and subject compete for the same limited cells.
Transparent PNG files
Transparency is useful for isolating a subject, but inspect the exported preview to ensure empty pixels are handled the way you expect before starting construction.
Which output should you use?
PNG blueprint
A cell-by-cell visual plan for manual building. It works across Java, Bedrock, console and mobile and remains readable without a mod.
CSV materials
The exact collection checklist, including block names and quantities. Use it to plan stacks and storage before placing the first row.
Litematic
An optional Java Edition placement reference. Wall exports use X/Y; flat exports use X/Z. Test origin and rotation before survival construction.
Java, Bedrock and console differences
Minecraft Java Edition
Use the PNG and CSV manually or load the optional Litematic with a compatible setup. A Litematic is a placement reference, not a guarantee that automatic placement is allowed on a server.
Minecraft Bedrock Edition

Common mistakes and fixes
Starting too large
Doubling width and height roughly quadruples the block positions. Prove the image works at a smaller size first.
Keeping a busy background
The converter cannot know which scenery is unimportant. Crop or remove it before conversion.
Choosing colors without checking cost
A closer match may introduce hard-to-obtain materials. Compare palettes and inspect the CSV.
Building from the preview alone
Keep row markers, exact material counts and a fixed origin. A pretty preview is not enough for accurate placement.
