Litematica Testing · Updated August 6, 2026

How to test a Litematic in a creative world.

Before building in survival, test your Litematic in a creative world copy. Check the origin, rotation, and wall/floor direction to avoid wasting materials.

Why test in creative first?

Step-by-step testing

  1. Create a creative copy — Open your world to LAN with cheats, or use a creative flat world
  2. Open Litematica — Press M to open the Litematica menu
  3. Load the .litematic — Navigate to your file and load it
  4. Check the placement — Use the placement overlay (M + Y) to see ghost blocks
  5. Verify origin — Make sure the build starts at the right position
  6. Check rotation — Rotate if the build faces the wrong direction
  7. Confirm direction — Wall (vertical) vs floor (horizontal) should match your plan
