How to build Minecraft pixel art on a wall.
For wall pixel art, generate a vertical X/Y blueprint one block deep, mark the lower corners, and place blocks row by row from the bottom. A PNG grid works manually; Java Edition builders can use a Litematic placement overlay.
1. Measure the site
Choose a flat wall with at least the blueprint width and height plus working space. Confirm the art will be readable from its main viewing point before collecting materials.
2. Export wall orientation
Select Wall art in BlockArtLab. The PNG represents horizontal X and vertical Y. The Litematic exporter uses the same one-block-deep vertical geometry.
3. Establish reference points
Mark both bottom corners and a center line. For a large project, add temporary markers every 8 or 16 blocks so a single counting error does not shift every later row.
4. Build bottom to top
Complete one horizontal row at a time and verify it against the grid. Use scaffolding or a safe platform, and keep the current row materials in separate inventory slots.
Wall-building checks
- Light the front evenly to avoid misleading shadows
- Stand back after every 8–16 rows
- Mirror only if the chosen viewpoint requires it
- Test the Litematic in a creative copy first
