Survival Building Guide · Updated August 6, 2026
Minecraft pixel art for survival mode.
To build pixel art in survival mode, use the Survival Friendly palette with easy-to-gather blocks like concrete, wood, and stone. Start at 16-32 blocks wide to keep material costs manageable.
Why survival-friendly blocks matter
Some Minecraft blocks require rare materials or complex crafting. Concrete needs sand, gravel, and dye. Wood and stone are available in every biome. Choosing accessible blocks means you spend time building, not grinding.
