How BlockArtLab Credits and Gallery Downloads Work

Clear explanation of BlockArtLab credits, gallery map unlocks, repeat downloads, AI Map Maker usage, and what you get in a map package (PNG, CSV, Litematic).

Credits power the paid parts of BlockArtLab without turning the free converter into a paywall. This guide explains what credits buy, how gallery unlocks work, and how to avoid spending them on the wrong map.

What stays free

  • Homepage image conversion preview in your browser (source image not uploaded for that flow)
  • Materials CSV export from the free converter
  • Browsing the map gallery previews
  • Reading blog posts, guides, About, Contact, Privacy, and Terms

PNG blueprint and Litematic exports from the free converter require a free account sign-in. That gate is about accounts, not credits.

What credits are for

Credits unlock:

  • AI Map Maker generations (see pricing for current pack sizes)
  • Selected gallery map download packages

They are not a Minecraft currency and have no value outside BlockArtLab. Unused credits remain on your account subject to the Terms of Service.

Gallery unlock model

Each unlockable gallery map typically costs a fixed credit amount (commonly 10 credits—confirm on the map page). After you unlock:

  1. Download PNG blueprint, materials CSV, and Litematic when available
  2. Repeat downloads of that unlocked map stay available in your account workflow
  3. You do not pay again for the same unlock unless Terms change and are posted

Preview pages are intentionally text-rich: specs, overview, installation steps, and FAQ exist so you can judge fit before spending credits.

How to decide before you unlock

Use this checklist on any /maps/[slug] page:

  • Does the silhouette match your theme at the listed width × height?
  • Are the top materials gatherable in your edition/play style?
  • Do you need Litematic (Java) or only PNG/CSV (any edition)?
  • Is the orientation wall (X/Y) or flat map (X/Z) correct for your site?

If unsure, convert a similar image on the free tool at the same size first. A free test convert is cheaper than an unlock you will never build.

AI Map Maker vs gallery

Path Best when Spends
Free converter You already have an image Sign-in for PNG/Litematic export
AI Map Maker You want a prompt-first design Credits per generation
Gallery unlock You like a finished curated map Credits once per map

Many builders use gallery maps as style references, then create their own variants with the converter.

Package contents explained

  • PNG — grid reference for manual builds; works on Java, Bedrock, and console
  • CSV — exact-ish material counts for farming and chest staging
  • Litematic — schematic for compatible Java + Litematica setups; test in creative first

Keep the three files together. Edition changes should never strand the project.

Support and billing

For credit, download, or placement issues, email support@blockartlab.com or use the Contact page. Include:

  • Map title or AI task ID
  • Whether the problem is billing, download link, or in-game placement
  • Edition (Java / Bedrock / console)

Independence and fair use

BlockArtLab is not affiliated with Mojang AB or Microsoft. Credits purchase access to BlockArtLab digital files under our Terms—not official Minecraft products. Do not resell unlocked packages as your own asset store without permission.

Practical tips to stretch credits

  • Preview thoroughly; unlock only maps you will build soon
  • Prefer Survival Friendly palettes when farms matter
  • Reuse unlocked maps as templates for hand edits
  • Buy credit packs when you already have a short build queue, not “just in case” of every gallery thumbnail

Clear credit rules protect both creators and AdSense reviewers: the site explains the commercial model in text, not only behind a button.

Example spend plans

Weekend mural plan: buy a small credit pack, unlock one gallery map that matches your theme, gather CSV top materials on Saturday, place Sunday. Do not unlock three maps “for inspiration”—previews are free.

Creator plan: spend credits on AI Map Maker iterations until the silhouette works, then export. Use gallery unlocks only when a curated design is clearly better than your prompt results.

Classroom plan: teacher unlocks one shared map; students use PNG/CSV printouts. Credits stay on the organizer account; students do not need individual purchases for a single shared unlock workflow if your Terms and classroom policy allow shared download distribution inside the class—never redistribute outside that context as a public asset dump.

What “thin content” looks like vs what we ship

A thin download page is thumbnail + button. BlockArtLab map pages add specifications, design story, installation steps, licensing, and FAQ so the commercial action sits inside explanatory text. That is intentional for product clarity and for advertising review crawlers that cannot download files.

Refunds and disputes

Credit packs and unlocks are digital goods. If a download fails, contact support with the map title before assuming a charge issue. Most problems are browser download blockers or wrong-edition expectations (looking for Litematic on Bedrock). We document edition limits on the page so expectations stay honest.

FAQ builders actually ask

Can I fix a muddy convert with shaders? No. Fix the crop, size, or palette first. Shaders change mood, not grid truth.

Should I unlock a gallery map if I might rebuild it by hand? Only if the silhouette already fits. Otherwise use the free converter to prototype sizes, then decide.

Is Litematic required? No. PNG + CSV complete most builds on every edition. Litematic is a Java convenience layer.

How much text should a map page include? Enough that a reader who cannot click Download still understands size, orientation, materials, install steps, and license. That standard protects players and advertising review.

What if my SMP forbids certain blocks? Reconvert with a restricted palette or edit the CSV plan before farming. Do not discover banned blocks halfway up the scaffold.

Closing

Block art rewards patience: measure the site, test the silhouette, stage materials, then place. BlockArtLab exists to make the early decisions visible—in the preview, the CSV, and the written page—so the late nights are spent building, not guessing.
